We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the academic landscape. The Academic Counselor will be responsible for providing academic guidance and support to students in order to help them achieve their academic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual counseling sessions with students to assess their academic needs and goals
- Develop personalized academic plans for students based on their interests and abilities
- Assist students with course selection, registration, and scheduling
- Monitor student progress and provide support and guidance as needed
- Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and other counselors to provide a comprehensive academic support system for students
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records
- Stay current with trends and developments in the academic field
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in academic counseling or a related field
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Familiarity with academic programs and requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs
